During COVID we were approached by Aviko (a Dutch potato products brand) and their marketing agency Backbone. They were desperately looking for a way to reinvent their flagship customer event, a small-scale live cooking workshop for around 80 customers to practice and cook a great three course Christmas meal with Aviko products.
We knew that simply broadcasting a cooking tutorial wouldn’t cut it. Together, we designed a concept based on the previous physical events, but with a focus on bringing people together, a high interactivity, TV grade production and visual storytelling.
And the results blew us away. We connected live with home kitchens all over the country, and people were loving it. Over 10,000 people joined, with an average watchtime of over 3,5 hours, and 95% retention rate. Participants gave the event an average grade of 8,7, with 92% indicating they would join again. It was such a success that Aviko decided to continue the event even after the covid restrictions were lifted.
The event won us the silver 2022 BEA World Award, and more importantly, Aviko is still continuing the concept in 2023 and beyond.
