IDEA convincingly live during The Experience Conference
IDEA
IDEA has been the trade organization for live communication and event marketing in the Netherlands for 15 years and represents over 60 bureaus in this marketplace. To demonstrate the value of live events, on July 10th 2018, IDEA organized the 3rd edition of the ‘Experience Conference’ in Haarlem’s Philharmonie. It was We Are Live’s role to broadcast this event live on Facebook in a captivating manner.
The philosophy of this conference was ‘Experienced by few and witnessed by many’. To that end, there were two distinct goals: to show the impact of a live event both on those physically present as well as those who viewed it on their mobiles, tablets or computers.
The Experience Conference isn’t just an event with an impressive lineup of prominent speakers such as Cisco, ING and Sanoma. It is also meant to demonstrate to IDEA’s clients the power of live. As a result, there was no room for mistakes. The logistics had to be absolutely perfect.
We Are Live was therefore very proud to have been asked to be part of the event. We worked hard to cinematically portray the speakers in a way that amplified their stories and to engage and surprise the viewer. We achieved this by having the editorial team switch between four cameras we’d placed around the hall. Along with this livestream we also edited the material as it was created, so we could make bite sized content available right after and even during the event.
This is a big advantage of recording an even live. You can upload video after an event and keep it available for as long as people show interest. Another advantage is that you can use this content to then promote the next edition of the live event.
We Are Live began filming events 10 years ago. We’ve produced both big and small live video concepts; using the newest techniques and working with experienced professionals directing, editing and camera crew. Over that time, we have continuously developed our skillset and will continue do so into the future. All this, so we can contribute to the growth of the online public and to extend the lifespan of events by recording them creatively.
